fashionweek.

NYC Fashion Week. Per your predictions, mostly non-manshion material. However, I’m gonna go through my favorite looks here. They are–you guessed it–classic pieces with a modern, practical sense to them.

SPURR.

If you have the money, their new suiting options are on point.

Band of Outsiders:

A.K.A. Band of Awesome!..siders.. For real, their Spring 2009 stuff is all looking good. Favorites:

Thom Browne:

Thom Browne designs Brooks Brothers’ “Black Fleece” line.. it involves some really cool, modern cut (read: Pee Wee Herman-ish) suits made with beautiful quality materials and craftsmanship (I mean, hey, it’s BB’s). What he had walking down the runway last week though (a runway covered in astro-turf mind you) was quite possibly just a nightmare following a night of non-stop drinking, pill-popping, and re-runs of Gossip Girl, Wimbledon, PeeWee’s funhouse, and that crazy japanese game show where the contestants get battered around for an hour through death traps in Salvation Army style costumes (MXC, right?).

"Yo what it do, Professor Brigsby?"

Lacoste:

If you were to tell me someone was wearing head-to-toe Lacoste, I’d say you’ve got yourself a real assclown. However, what comes down the runway is often quite different from the rainbow-color-clad douches seen leaving Lacoste retail spots.

Tim Hamilton:

My favorite from his collections…

bad posture, dude, but.. hey, cool pants

Rag and Bone:

air tie is going hard here.. even has a tie bar to prove its really there, just invisible!

Shipley & Halmos:

I really liked their stuff… practical, nice cuts.. just plain stylish without being a Picasso accident. My only complaint: see thumbnail and note that men do not do see-through clothing.

Until next time.
