Mono-No No’s

With all of the fashionable attire in this world, why would any respectable person decide to drape himself in letters? G’s, F’s, L’s, V’s… Really people? We need to stop the madness and bring light to this trend that’s plaguing our society.

So I’m going to outline what’s acceptable and unacceptable in the world of monograms:

Acceptable:

Simple Monogramage...

Simple Monogramage...

Burberry Polo

Kanye...you're pushing it. Take off the fanny pack and maybe this could be acceptable.

Subtle and suitable. Maximum monogram acceptance.

If you're still wearing Tim's, you're on the wrong site. If you're wearing THESE Tim's, die.

If you're still wearing Timberlands, you're on the wrong site. If you're wearing THESE Timberlands, die.

Self-explanatory

No!

Conclusion: If you HAVE to wear these popular Italian designers (Gucci, Fendi, Louis etc.), please  have respect for yourself and for your wardrobe. Monogram and alphabet are NOT synonymous!

Agreed. I hate people who walk around as living billboards. A/X seems particularly heinous about plastering their brand all over their K-Mart clubwear ‘fashion.’ I also cannot STAND seeing that Louis Vuitton pattern anywhere. It just immediately screams ‘desperation’ to me. “Look at me! I’m stylish, I swear! I have LV!!!”

Louis Vuitton monogrammed products are, I agree, horrible.

    They are, however, French.

Great comments. Touché to Fabio. During my “writing-rage” I did incorrectly lump together some designers and refer to them as Italian. This just goes to show you that tacky monogrammage is a universal language. I’m just glad I don’t speak it. Thanks for the comments.

It’s the same people that go around proclaiming how much “class” they have. True class has no need of being flashy.

  6. Head says:

Hahaha very true on all accounts. Too many countless wanna-be guidos wearing their stupid EA and fake LV shit here in Montreal (pick your night when schools out, thurs/fri/sat).
    Just sad.
